The way to run 32 bit apps on 64 bit Linux, we will take an OS as an example.
Let's start with Ubuntu which is a very popular distro amongst most Linux geeks. Ubuntu comes with both 32 and 64 bit libraries in Ubuntu, but the 32 bit libraries are not installed.
Therefore to enable 32 apps to run, one would have to use the Synaptic manager to enable the libstdc++5 and ia32 libraries. By enabling these two libraries, you can install and run most 32 bit apps without any problems.
