Founded by best-selling author and leading Christian thought leader Dr. John Townsend, the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine brings together Christians from all across the country and across all walks of life. For years, Dr. Townsend, along with the Institute’s Fellows and faculty, have been transforming lives. Now you too have the opportunity to learn from master practitioners with decades of real world experience.

Here at the Townsend Institute, we understand that your time is limited. You need a bachelor’s degree option that fits your schedule and can be completed relatively fast. Students with an Associate's degree may earn their Organization Psychology degree online in as little as 24 months. The accelerated courses are only 7 weeks long and taken sequentially one at a time.

As a part of completing 120 total units and earning your bachelor's degree, you will take the following 42 units listed below. Elective courses in other CUI adult education program majors are options for acquiring your total required units to graduate.

If you don't meet the admissions requirements to start the upper division courses immediately, our General Education courses can serve as your starting point. As soon as you have completed 45 GE units, you can transition directly into Organizational Psychology.

The Townsend Institute takes a different approach to academics. The Townsend Institute is housed within Concordia University Irvine, a private, Lutheran university. Located in Southern California, Concordia serves over 4,000 students annually, on campus and online. Centered by a Christian worldview, and guided by the Great Commission, Concordia is home to a thoughtful and caring community of learners.

If you want to grow as a person, you are in the right place. Starting with your first course, you will learn Dr. Townsend’s Competence & Character Growth Model, which is integrated throughout the curriculum. You will have many assignments where you apply what you are learning to your personal life or career. As you connect with your classmates and faculty through live classrooms and discussion board dialogues, you discuss ways you are growing according to the Competence & Character Growth Plan that each student develops when they start the program.

  • Fill out our Statement of Intent.
  • Submit AA degree (preferred) or official high school transcript(s) (proof of graduation).

Admissions Eligibility

  • Option 1: Associate Degree, IGETC, or CSU certification
  • Option 2: You have 45 transferable credits or more and are able to take general education classes concurrently with your major.
  • Option 3: If you have 0-44 units, you are eligible for candidate status and can begin taking GE courses. Once 45 credits total are obtained, you can begin taking courses concurrently.
  • 2.4 GPA required
